Why does OptiContacts charge a processing fee? ›

The processing fee includes taxes, insurance, and costs associated with the handling of your order (such as third party transaction fees). Processing fees do not include any charges for the cost of the product itself.

It states that your eye doctor must release your prescription to you on completion of your contact lens fitting, and that we must verify that you have a valid prescription in order to be able to ship your order.

Orders are guaranteed to be 100% accurate and free of defects or we will replace and reship at no charge. We always ship using a reliable carrier such as USPS, Fedex or UPS.

Most Insurance plans will not cover the fitting fee, as they consider contacts to be cosmetic.

If the total processing time of your package is expected to exceed 7 days, your online order status will be updated to reflect the extended delay, at which time you will be given the option to wait for or cancel your order. All orders cancelled before shipment are entitled to a full refund of all charges.

You may leave your lenses in the unopened lens case containing OPTI-FREE® PUREMOIST® Solutionfor up to 30 days. After this time, your lenses must be cleaned and disinfected with OPTI-FREE® PUREMOIST® Solutionprior to wear. Always follow your eye care professional's instructions.

Returned contact lenses must be in their original packaging and condition, unopened, complete, and sealed, without any writing or markings. You cannot use an expired prescription to purchase glasses or contact lenses. State law determines when your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses will expire. Eyeglass prescriptions usually are good for a year or two, but state laws vary.

Unfortunately not. Your eyeglass prescription only has the power part of the contact lens prescription. In addition to the power the proper base curve (BC) and diameter (DIA) are needed to order contact lenses. Contact lenses come in different sizes and must be fit to your eye by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

You'll need a prescription for your new contact lenses in order to buy them either at the eye doctor's office or online. Let your eye doctor know in advance that you'll need a contact lens prescription since these are very different from eyeglass prescriptions. Ask them to prescribe your contacts for a national brand.

Prices for contact lenses go up as the refractive error or specialty needs increase. The most expensive lenses are bifocal or multifocal lenses or those correcting for astigmatism (irregular corneal shape) or presbyopia (farsightedness related to age).
